The Haus Kladower Forum known for its musical, literary and artistic performances and events comes out with a retrospective of the works by the Kladow based artist Andreas Hensel. The show is titled Crodinos World containing Collage, drawings, acrylic paintings and objects made of various materials and ready mades.
„For about 3 decades the artist Andreas Hensel, born in West berlin in 1963, has created his very genuine imaginary universe.
“The key characteristics of Andreas Hensel‘s art is the idea of the picture preformed in the imagination and striving to become form and figure. It is important to know this. Otherwise it is not possible to understand why this artist, unlike some of his colleagues, does not feel tied to any particular medium. Depending on the requirements of the idea he makes use of paintings, collage, the printing press, paper silhouettes, ink and pen drawings, photography, objects, and a number of mixed media that combine these techniques. In the artist‘s work you can often see the motif shift from one medium to another. „
They say it has no boundaries. Nevertheless we (all) are prown to classification in categories when it comes to art and the question how one can approach to it and find his way within. CRODINO (Crodinos World) escapes every attempt of categorisation. His view of the dayly spectacle of the images (=circus) wants to be more differenciated. In contrast to those images that pretend LOVE, LIVE, PASSION every day thus seducing us to (digital) escapism in every possible way and than holding back their promises for „the next time“.(Wolfgang Kerner)
Who is leaving the city of Berlin and wants to visit the picturesque Kladow should go and see its historical centre with its honorable church and antique 19th century houses.
